Who We Are
1. Since its inception in 2009-2010 by a group of like-minded individuals, ASHROI has remained deeply committed to the holistic development of society. From working on women and child development, mental health, de-addiction, environment, education, livelihood, to promoting the rights of the most vulnerable, ASHROI continues to play a crucial role in building a just and inclusive society in Assam.
2. Vision statement: To build an inclusive, stigma-free, and empowered society where mental well-being is valued as much as physical health, individuals struggling with mental illness or addiction are embraced with dignity and care, and every vulnerable person has access to holistic development, healing, and livelihood opportunities.
- To raise awareness about mental health and addiction through grassroots-level engagement, training, and sensitization across communities.
- To provide comprehensive care—including treatment, counseling, skill training, and rehabilitation-through the Navajeevan Centre for individuals affected by mental illness and substance abuse.
- To break the stigma surrounding mental health by promoting empathy, early detection, and open conversations among youth, families, and frontline workers.
- To ensure community participation in every initiative, making people the heart of their own progress.
- To strengthen collaboration with government bodies, local leaders, and stakeholders for sustainable development and impactful social transformation.
